How to improve Instagram engagement

How to improve Instagram Engagement

One of the factors that affects how your Instagram post performs in the algorithm is how people engage with your Instagram content
What I personally find the most important is to build you unique image online. People are tired of “plastic” corporate and they are keen to see smth more real online.
Tell your story.
Engage them with this story. Give them pleasure to observe you.
The more comments, likes, shares, and DMs your posts get, the more likely it will be ranked as quality content and it could be displayed to wider audiences on the explore page.

1. Complete your Instagram bio
A good Instagram bio explains what’s your core business. A good idea is to speaks directly to your target audience. Using emoji makes description easier to read and more memorable
Include a link in your Instagram bio

Essentially, there are two key elements:

  1. Account handle Consider: is the name easy to write/pronounce/understand?
  2. Account name Consider: what do I want to tell my followers and how can I do this in the shortest way possible?

The account handleThis is the @ name that you register with, and the most important as it reflects what your account is about. Although you can change your name at any time, it is recommended that you choose one name and stick with it.
Consider: is the name easy to write/pronounce/understand?

2. Add some fun to your posts
mix of fun and interesting posts which helps them create a conversation with their audience.

3. Maintain a schedule

  • When you should post
  • How often you should post

You can make up your own posting pattern:

  • A Top Post once a week
  • Twice a week
  • 3 times a week

There are 3 reasons why posting consistently is important:

  • Instagram rewards people who use their app consistently (makes sense, right?)
  • People will remember you if they see you all the time in their home feed and Insta Stories
  • If you’re not consistent Instagram will not show your new posts that often in your followers’ home feed

4. Add a location every time you post
Tag the actual building, business, venue, or other small area.

5. Reply to your DMs, Always reply to the comments
This step is essential. Keeping a relationship with your followers is very important

6. Start conversations with Instagram Stories Stickers
Questions, polls, chats stickers

7. Use branded hashtags + Choose the right hashtags

Hashtags can help you to:

  • Gain more likes
  • Gain more followers
  • Reach a broader audience

8. Take a look at your analytics
By delving deep into your analytics, you’ll get a better understanding of what content resonates with your audience.
Track and learn from your best-performing Instagram content
hat types of posts got you spikes of engagement? Analyze these posts:

  • What’s on the photo?
  • What colors are the photo?
  • What did you write in the caption?
  • What hashtags did you use?

9. Stick with one Instagram filter
Make your Instagram branding matter

10. Write longer Instagram captions
Instagram captions can really help you to provide additional context to your content, and can help you to engage and delight your audience.
Write in your caption something like this:

  • “If I could go anywhere in the world right now, I would go to ______”
  • Ask people to leave a comment to fill in the blank

Ask a question in your caption

You can ask questions about:

  • What people feel about a certain topic: “What do you think about the new Instagram algorithm?
  • Getting to know your followers better: “Where are you guys from?”
  • Ask their opinion on a topic: “Have you ever tried ___? What do you think about it?”

Don’t preach, tell a story instead

11. Use the right Instagram image size

Instagram sizes are:

  • Instagram profile photo: 320×320 px
  • Instagram square photos: 1080×1080 px
  • Instagram portrait photos: 1080×1350 px
  • Instagram landscape photos: 1080×566 px
  • Instagram stories/IGTV: 1080×1920 px

12. Make videos and video stories, think what you could offer in IGTV

Explore the full range of Instagram video formats. Give GIFs a chance . Use Instagram video subtitles and closed captions

13. Use Instagram traffic to increase website traffic

Instagram Stories is the BEST way to get clicks and page views to your website from Instagram.
If you want people to click through to your website, you need to create anticipation.

It helps your audience understand HOW clicking your link will answer their questions or solve a problem.
(Remember: people always want to know what’s in it for them.)

Here’s how:
Make the first Story of your Highlight a call-to-action asking your followers to click on the link in your bio.
Next, create a few Stories that share more information about the products or the blog post.
Wrap up this Highlight with yet another C-T-A to click the link in your bio.
Have a new link in your bio to feature? You can delete the original Stories from your Highlight once you have a new set of Stories and a link to promote. Just don’t forget to add in the new Stories to your Highlight after removing the old ones!

Instagram is all about publishing the right content. You can have the best strategy behind your posts, amazing copy, and great ideas, but if your content isn’t exciting or compelling none of that will matter — you won’t get any traffic!

Your goal should be to post content that engages your audience rather than simply promoting your products.

14. Use SEO to ‘win’ Instagram (Remember, Instagram can identify the content of your posts. If it doesn’t fit with your handle, then expect your posts not to appear in the Explore section.)

15. Partner with an influencer to create brand authenticity
Tag Users to Increase Instagram Post Likes
It helps your audience understand HOW clicking your link will answer their questions or solve a problem.
16. Host an Instagram contest
People love free stuff.

17. Convert Instagram followers into email subscribers . Email remains the de facto channel for building truly deep customer relations. First, create a clickable incentive in your Instagram posts depending on your target audience. For instance, consider offering a prize, free content, or a discount.

18. Focus on user-generated content
Ask people to tag their friends

Ask people to tag their:

  • Friends
  • Favorite accounts
  • Someone who inspires them
  • [anyone as long as it relates to your post]

This will create a snowball effect. New people might comment on your post. And they might also discover your account for the first time.

19. Promote your Instagram channel on other social accounts

20. Add a compelling call to action Place a Call to Action on Images

21. Have Story Highlights on Your Profile. Highlights are one of Instagram’s most valuable features for businesses.
It’s a way to save your hard work and continue showing off your blog posts and links… long after the 24-hour mark.

22. Announce a new post in your story. Use Instagram Stories to Tease Your Audience

23. web site optimisation . No one wants high bounce rates and zero sales.
If your site isn’t optimized for mobile, all of your traffic-generating efforts won’t get you the results you want.
Instagram is a MOBILE platform first and foremost, right?
Visit your website on your phone and double check that it’s easy to navigate, quick to load and easy to read.

How to drive traffic from Instagram to web-site

#1: Use Lead Offers to Drive Targeted Traffic from Instagram

To use a lead offer, you first need to have a gated piece of content that people can only acquire if they subscribe to your email list.
Then, you need to create a landing page where you share that piece of content. (Tip: to turn Instagram followers into leads, make sure your landing page is mobile-friendly!)
Finally, you’ll share an Instagram post that promotes your content and asks people to visit your landing page to access it.
It’s also a good idea to use a shortened URL and add UTM parameters so you can track the number of clicks your link gets in Google Analytics.

#2: Drive Traffic from Instagram with Shoppable Posts

Shoppable Instagram posts reduce the distance between the point of discovery to the point of purchase, making it much easier for people to buy directly from their feeds.
And since 74% of shoppers use social media to inform their purchase decisions, Instagram’s shoppable posts represent a unique opportunity to increase your sales with a small investment on your end.

#3: Use Instagram Stories to Drive Traffic from Instagram

Social media makes advertising more relatable and personal. It allows businesses to break from their professionally-produced ads and talk directly to their consumers.
Your customers want to buy from a company that they trust, and social media allows them to connect with you on a deeper level.
While most social media looks more human than most advertising campaigns, Instagram Stories makes your ads and brand even more trustworthy.
Another big benefit to using Instagram Stories to drive traffic is that your stories don’t need to look professionally designed. The power of stories is that they feel authentic and personal, which makes them more effective in your follower’s eyes.

#4: Drive Traffic from Instagram with Influencer Marketing

That’s the main idea behind social proof, a psychology concept that marketers often use to their benefit.
The goal should be to find relevant influencers who have an audience that would be interested in buying your products.
